Welcome to second grade!!!!!!!!! Second grade is an exciting and wonderful time, students you will learn and discover many, many, new and wonderful things this year

Some key points for this coming year.....
- RCS has adopted a new reading program called Reading Street. This program is based on Indiana Educational State Standards and uses lots of technology which I know the students are going to love!
- We have also adopted a new math program called Envision. This program is also wrapped around all core standards second graders need to know in order to be ready for third grade. A unique feature of this program is it also is leveled, meaning the work is geared specifically to your child's needs, whether it's reteaching of a topic, or an enrichment track.
-This year Highland Heights and Crestdale Elementary Schools are both piloting an ISTEM FOSS science program. This science program includes tons of hands on experiements and the use of a very cool science journal students will be creating themselves!!!!
